| Admissions — Becoming a resident We invite you to call our residency counselor for a personal interview as a first step in becoming a Methodist Home resident. She will guide you through a simple application process and answer questions you may have. Below is our step-by-step approach to applying.
How to Apply:
1. Call the Residency Counselor at (202) 966-7623 to set up an appointment. She will provide you with information in an introductory folder.
2. Tour the Methodist Home, and our residency counselor will be very happy to answer any questions. Discuss the suite style that best suits your preference and needs.
3. Complete the application packet, which includes an admission form, confidential financial information form, and health history form (to be completed by your physician). If no suites are available at the time the paperwork is completed and approved, you may choose to be placed on a wait list. 4. At the time a suite becomes available, the director of nursing will schedule a visit with you. The residency counselor will help with moving arrangements and questions for getting settled in.
After move in, the staff will provide an orientation and welcome program.
Volunteer Opportunities The Guild of the Methodist Home of DC is proud to be one of the most respected and oldest charitable organizations of our kind in the area, existing solely to serve the needs of our residents and their families. The Guild, an all volunteer organization, has enhanced the quality of life and well-being of residents since 1889 with fundraising and services such as a friend-to-friend visiting program, corner store, monthly birthday parties and a holiday party with a gift for each resident.
There are many other opportunities to volunteer at the Methodist Home. Please call (202) 966-7623 for information. Gifts and Donations Your gifts to the Home support the care and enrichment of the lives of the elderly and particularly those who are otherwise unable to financially provide for themselves. A donation qualifies for a charitable deduction to the fullest extent allowed by law. Please contact us to discuss the details of any gift arrangement, including the tax and financial benefits. A large variety of gift giving opportunities are available including gifts of: stock, real estate, personal property, retirement plans, life insurance. Charitable gift annuities, deferred gift annuities, charitable trusts, and bequests are other options. Contact your financial advisor or MHDC for more information to help you determine the gift structure that may be most advantageous to your individual needs. Careers We strive to maintain an environment in which employees can find personal satisfaction, professional growth, and fulfillment.
